The landmarks of Plovdiv

So you are making plans for your holidays ? And you have no idea which city to visit ? The next several lines on that page will help you with the choice. For several years all the people in the world knows for the great and virgin nature in Bulgaria. The city of Plovdiv is the second biggest city in Bulgaria and the fifth most antique city in the world. It won its visitors with favorable place. The city is situated over seven granite hills known as "Tepeta". The lovely and deep river Maritza contributes for his image. The history of those city is so rich that in this century man can still find memories of previous ages . For example: the Antique theater, old turkish churches, Roman monuments, Tsar Simeon gardens and many more. The "Old town" is the most important destination for every visitor. UNESCO rewards it for world culture inheritance. It is placed exactly in the foothills of the Rhodopes. Black see and Sofia (the capital city) are also pretty close - 2-3 hours with car . This factor makes it one of the most preferred destination in east Europe and especially Bulgaria. You can feel all kind of nature around the town.

The old city is covered by souvenir shops, small business hotels, hotels, hostels and other attractions. Yes I know, it seems quite usual. Man can see that in any other place. The unique and romantic fact is that the abovementioned attractions are built in renovated renaissance houses and landmarks. It is well known that the city was found around 300 years before the christ. It is considered that the founder is called Philip Macedonski. 20 centuries before, (through the Rome age) the "City of the seven hills" have been conquered from different nations and not once - renamed. One of the most remembering names is Trimoncium. It's considered that it was used for capital of the whole Roman empire, because of it's strategic location in Europe. Nevertheless contrary to expectations it survives unlike many other strategic cities like Vavilon and Tiva.

That was sufficient part of the history. I'm not going to continue, because there is practically no end.

More than 80% of the people always come back in the city. And as you know no one of them ever care for the accommodation.
